Atman: The Consciousness "I Am", the Intelligence, the Witness. Silent consciousness that testifies the impressions. With it begins duality.

Self-consciousness: Stay aware of the same consciousness. Be aware of yourself

Self-inquiry (Vichara): Method of meditation in which the sensation of existence is taken as its object. Stay self-conscious

Fourth and Fifth State: The Fourth State is also known as Nirvana. State of Consciousness beyond the three states of the mind: Vigil, Dreaming with dreams and deep Sleep.

Lucidity: Pure Consciousness without object. The Ultimate and Absolute state. The void alive.

Maya: Illusion, deception, ignorance of ME.

Jnana: Knowledge.

Kevala (Nirvikalpa Samadhi): Higher state of consciousness where there is no identification with the entity itself. In this state the mind is temporarily submerged in itself, but the impressions are maintained.

Nirvikalpa: Higher states of Consciousness. Superior samadhis. They are two: Kevala and Sahaja.

Sadhana: The inner work that is done.

Samadhi: Remain as the Self, conscious and present to oneself.

Savikalpa samadhi: Remain as the Self without losing identification with one's own conscious individuality. Natural state. The Consciousness "I Am". The loss of self-consciousness and its reappearance is Savikalpa Samadhi in its most elementary form.

Shakti: The Creative Force of Life, of the Absolute. Creator of the Universe. Asleep in the man receives the name of Kundalini and his doze creates the illusion of the entity.

Self: Another way to call the Absolute state. Paramatman, beyond the "I Am", of Being.

Witness: The "I Am" Consciousness testifying his own entity and impressions. The consciousness turned towards the outside. (See Atman).

Turiya: The Fourth State. (See Fourth State).

Turiyatita: The Fifth State.
