A Treatise Written for the Personal Use of Those Who Are Ignorant of the Eastern Wisdom, and Who Desire to Enter Within its Influence [1]

Written down by MC, with Notes by the Author

[1. An ancient work dictated by "Master Hilarion."]

Light on the Path was first published in March 1885. When H.P. Blavatsky arrived in England in May 1887, staying several months at Mabel Collins' Maycot Lodge in Norwood she already knew the book, having been given a copy in the summer of 1886 while living in Elberfeld, Germany. In collaboration with H.P. Blavatsky, Light on the Path was re-edited for the magazine Lucifer and published in parts from September 1887 to January 1888.

Theosophical University Press, Pasadena, California (print and audio mp3 versions also available). Electronic version ISBN 1-55700-043-3. The present edition is a verbatim reprint of the 1888 edition (George Redway, London) in which the NOTES by the author first appear. The COMMENTS, which are not in the 1888 edition, are taken directly from Lucifer, Volume I, 1887-8, where they were first published. For ease of searching, no diacritical marks appear in this electronic version.
